Anja Leidel’s art practice lives at the intersection of design, craft, and conceptual rigor, in a visual dialogue that unfolds between intuition and intention. As a designer and art director she crafts brands, books, or exhibition designs, pretty much outside ad molds. Meanwhile, she lives her life as a sunning paracat basking in connecting dots and human connection, then paints, types, and carves, drinks of poetry and flow and curates playlists like soundtracks. Her work resides in the spaces where precision meets harmony, with a tiny hint of punk: in the grain of linocuts, the rhythm of typography, in contrast or the quiet power of an exhibition’s narrative. Joyfully in all them colours! She embraces the transformative energy of trust and the subliminal us-ness of collaboration. As a metagoth drawn to the sun, she explores light as both symbol and practice, using balanced repetition and play to give shape to shadows and stories. Her projects, from sun prayers to painting as her well, turn windows into light, white space into meaning, and ornaments into life. Resisting any box, she is grateful for the hands that hold this work with her, to create beautiful tales on things that matter.
